Independence X Aerospace (IDXA), a Malaysian Team made it as the top 16 finalists of the Google Lunar XPRIZE, a global competition for privately funded teams to land an unmanned spacecraft on the surface of the moon by 31 December 2017.
9 years back, Google launched the competition to invoke interest in aerospace technology and bring forth a new era of affordable access to the Moon and beyond. The competition received over 8,000 entries worldwide before 16 finalists were declared. Malaysia is the only South-East Asian team competing against the likes of Germany, Japan, Israel and India.
IDXA’s technology is unique as it looks into providing access to space, without much impact to size and turnaround time. The technology also has strong potential to improve telecommunications services, agricultural monitoring, healthcare research and Earth observations in space.
Malaysia’s first step to the moon depends on YOU. DO come and join us in Kuching Old Courthouse to get more information from us. Of course, we would like to invite everyone to bring family and friends to meet team in person. They are so friendly to talk to.
